    body attack calorie burner

How many calories do you burn in a one hour session of BA?

it really depends on the person... everyone burns a different amount, depending on your weight, age, sex, and the intensity in which you work. i think the range of calories is anywhere from 600 - 900. the best way for you to find out is to wear a calorie counter during class.... if you want to be completely accurate.

    happy attacking!

    Hi:

I have a BodyBugg which measures how many calories you burn among other things.  During BodyAttack I can burn anywhere from 450-570 calories in an hour.  We have some other female instructors at our club that also teach/take BodyAttack and they are about in that range as well.

    I hope this helps.

I burn around 700 calories in a class, i have a Polar Watch HR monitor (which i recomend EVERY athlete/workout junkie own....i push myself sooo much harder when i wear it!).  I play tennis and run CC for my university...and teach BP as well, so it's not that i am out of shape...it's just a GREAT workout that burns a ton of calories!!!!!

I don't think you can find a single heart rate monitor that makes ANY printed statement of accuracy for their calorie display.  Bottom line is that they count total heart beats.

I use a HRM which tells me my peak and average heart rate, and that's all I need.

there are actually special calorie counting devices, separate from HRM's. i don't have one, but i hear they are fairly accurate.

    Re: body attack calorie burner

Going full one while teaching my Polar usually says I break 1000, taking the class it's usually more like 700.  At home in my living room - probably lucky if I break 500.  My monitor has always seemed to estimate the calories burned for me at a pretty high number, though.  Maybe I just don't burn any calories at all the rest of the day.  Grin.

    Re: body attack calorie burner

I have had very similar results.  I am 5'5" and weigh about 138lbs.  On an easy day (team teaching I burn about 550 c's on a regular BA day I burn about 7-800 c's.  I have noticed that I burn more in my morning classses than in the evening.

On occassion I have hit the 900 mark.

    Awesome!

I'm 5 10 - and weigh about 10 lbs more than you.  I think having so far to move my arms and legs to cover full range probably contributes to the overall burn.

    Re: body attack calorie burner

I  am female, 5ft 4 weigh 54kg and teach attack, pump and balance as well as Johnny G Spin and freestyle classes and I burn NO where near that many calories....Last time I wore a polar my calories burned were 349 for Body Attack.

A friend of mine has been doing a scientific study on a new fitness product that she has invented and the research showed that her product burned same calories as attack which the scientists discovered to be an average of 250-300 calories( she had various people of differerent fitness levels, age etc doing body attack then the same people doing her product - The Fit Zone.)

Not one instructor here has burned that many calories during an attack class and we are all putting 100% into our classes as wel as being extremely fit.

    Re: body attack calorie burner

I'm 45 kg and I burn  very little...I'm not  much tall 1,57 m......anyway I think I can burn more calories in attavk tnan in combat or body step...

I'm just a participant...but of curse  I know it depends on the size of the body and the weight...

so  I really don't care if I dont  burn much with attack..it makes me feel  better anyway.

Wow!  That's interesting.  I've been using a polar for mine as well.  I wonder why the huge discrepancy!

I am 5'4" about 170 lbs.  My body bugg reports between 540-550 when I solo teach after about a year of teaching regularly.
