    BODYSTEP 89

    This will be interesting.

The partner idea might be a huge problem or a great thing but I also like the new T3 idea.  I know it always works well when we can layer the moves. T5 will BURRRN and T6 seems fun!

Also, YAY! They finalized the Step Atheltic option.

Hmm, sounds interesting... especially this partner business.  We don't see it for 3 more weeks here so I am curious to see what you're talking about with track 3 etc.

    Re: BODYSTEP 89

It's a track dedicated to "previewing" the moves that come later so for example there is a slow burpee.

Is there anyway we can sample the playlist? I get so excited when the new stuff comes out but I never know which version of a song they are going to do.

    Re: BODYSTEP 89

I don't want to ruin the surprise.  It isn't anything fancy, just something different for the warm-up.  It will either work out perfectly or if you have an anti-social class, it will be completely awkward!

Hi, What is the partner idea? Sounds like it could be a nightmare in some places?

    Thanks!

    Re: BODYSTEP 89

It's really simple and you can choose not to do it. You find a partner at the beginning of the class and then during track one and track three there are parts to jog behind your step -or- run and switch places with your partner.

    Re: BODYSTEP 89

Yep and you will always switch back to your step to complete any moves that involve the step.  When we launch, I am assigning partners before class so that it runs smoothly.

I get to try new BodyStep 89 this weekend. Very excited. The playlist looks awesome and everything I've heard about it so far sounds really fun. Although it looks like they're trying to streamline AthC into the main flow of the program (ie, Party and Speed now listed as bonus tracks), things like the partnering in tracks 1 and 3 feel very true to the BodyStep essence.

    Re: BODYSTEP 89

They filmed in AthC to officially show the format now (1-7,10,AC); no more ambiguity or grey area.  In BS 90, it goes right back into 70/30 and actually, I believe Lisa O at the US/CAN Trainer Summit stated that the general concensus is that participants like the 70/30 more.  The option will still be there for AthC.

    Re: BODYSTEP 89

Interesting. Did BS89 over the weekend which I loved! The music and chorey are so fun. You thought Mixed Strength in BS88 was very "jumpy", well BS89 kicks you to the next level. The "partnering" in track 1+3 was cute and playful. It makes a surprise return much later in the program :)

I know this release was Mark's little project to present the AthC version of the program in it's fullness shown right through, but I thought it was interesting after reading my chorey notes that this was actually not a 70/30 release, but an 80/20 release. Only tracks 8 and 9 have FLAVA icons. I'm not complaining as there are plenty of other little FLAVA moments in the release (tracks 2 and 6 are good examples- and I don't think BS needs to be strictly 3 tracks FLAVA, 7 tracks ATH but a fluid mix), but just interesting to note.

Enjoy BS89 at workshops as they come up. A very different and new version of the BodyStep we're used to. An exciting time to be an instructor.

    Re: BODYSTEP 89

I don't know....at first listen to 89, I am thinking the music is sucking again.  I could be biased though because I teach Jam too and the music there is just unbelievable.  I don't know why we can't use some of that music in Step.
